Spend your day on top of the world and away from the crowds at "Sunshine Meadows"

The Sunshine Meadows are known by many as the most stunning alpine setting in the Canadian Rockies and perhaps in the world. Situated at an average elevation of 2220m (7,300'), the meadows straddle the Continental Divide and the boundary between Alberta and British Columbia. Surrounded by some of the Rockies' highest peaks, the unobstructed views are beyond compare. Wildlife abounds in the meadows, and the brilliance of the summer flowers and autumn larches guarantees spectacular scenery on every visit.

Spend your day on top of the world and away from the crowds at Sunshine Meadows. Mt. Assiniboine, "the Matterhorn of the Canadian Rockies" and Banff National Park's highest peak, can be your backdrop! A network of gentle trails wind their way through the Meadows and offers a range of walking for all abilities.

Incredible Sightseeing

At the Sunshine Meadows the trails are all considered easy and can be walked by anyone of any age, in reasonable physical condition. The steepest part of the trail system is at the very beginning where the trails lead you up and out of the meadow that Sunshine Village sits in and over the continental divide. The total elevation gain over 1 km is about 100 m. (300 ft. in a 1/2 mile). All trails are gravelled and ideal for all weather. On the trails at the Sunshine Meadows, you'll also find many benches, numerous viewpoints and 2 outhouses. (Talk about luxury!)

Shuttle Bus Schedules

Food Service

At the village there is a small deli where you can purchase a lunch or snacks, as well as a gift shop and lots of indoor and outdoor seating.
